What a weekend and a half it's been. It began with Neil eating spinach tart and prawns for dinner on Valentine's Day and it's the best gift he could give me. Much better than the pink velvet rose with a smiley face that he and Daddy got me for Valentines Day, though that was cute too.
Cut to early Friday morning when Daddy was catching up on the zzzs, I was dozing with the newspaper in my hand and Neil was playing with his spy gear set that he has rediscovered. It wasn't a very quiet sort of play and involved hiding and stalking in all the rooms looking for disguised spies and/or robbers. Suddenly from the kitchen came the jingle, jangle, clang, bang of dishes falling on the floor along with shouts of "caught you" and "hands up" from Neil, and followed by, "Mamma I caught a ssssppppyyyyy!!!! Well, the spy turned out to be the saaf saaf uncle (the cleaner) who was talking on his cellphone in telugu.
Friday was also the day for the horse race to which Daddy was invited and could take along Neil but not Mumma. Neil was all for touching the horses if not running with them but was handicapped by the fact that he was stuck far away from the track in a box with Daddy's colleague's kids and had to be on his best behaviour or else...! Though he made up by eating "chicken and chicken and chicken and a little rice".

Next on Neil's agenda was the Mall of the Emirates for some quick toy shopping and some yummy hot chocolate and chocolate cake and chocolate mousse and then we were all set to call it a day so that Daddy could drop us home before heading for the Santana concert. But our man would not hear of being 'dropped home' when Daddy was going to a rock concert. So, we zipped across the city, picking up Daddy's friend Shoodarshan Uncle on the way. All the way, Neil kept spirits up by shouting "let's make some Rrock, let's do some Rrock". Once there, we found a guy who sold us his ticket at a premium because we looked really desperate but thankfully, they let Neil in without a ticket and we entered just as they were beginning with 'Maria Maria'. For the first half an hour, Neil was on Daddy's shoulders dancing, screaming, clapping and rocking with the crowd and loving every minute of it. But soon enough, he got off, made me spread Daddy's jacket on the ground, sat on it, ate six cookies without stopping and slept off in my lap! In the middle of a rock concert with huge speakers blaring music and the crowd screaming and whistling like mad.

I guess Neil's beginning to party like a rock star. .....Santana bring up your best beat... you are making little Neil snooze.
